Zander Sod’s Fine Fescue
A low maintenance way to grow a beautiful lawn for your home.
Zander Sod’s Fine Fescue is a superior combination of highly ranked grasses in the National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) trials. This fescue is a combination of Creeping Red Fescue, Chewing Fescue, and a little Kentucky Bluegrass to give some soil strength for harvesting. Our Fine Fescue sod is low maintenance, requiring less fertilizer and irrigation. While all grasses require some sunlight to grow, our Fine Fescue blend is a little more shade tolerant than Kentucky Bluegrass.
Benefits to installing sod in fall
The cooler temperatures and timely rainfall during the fall prevent sod from overheating and drying out and encourage roots to establish before the harsh temperatures force the sod into winter dormancy or rest. The sod remains dormant during the colder months and will begin to grow as spring approaches. Once spring rolls around your sod will have had a head start in establishing a strong root system and will be ready to survive the season.
